Wisper Bikes...

The Iconic Wisper brand has been synonymous with high quality, innovative electric bikes for over a decade, Wisper was one of the first British designed electric bikes to be sold in the UK. We service and hold spare parts for most of the bikes we have ever built and have customers still riding their wispers after a decade of service.

Wisper electric bikes have the reputation of being slightly ahead of the pack utilising the very latest in electric bike technology.

Wisper Torque bikes benefit from a new, powerful, almost silent motor controlled by the latest and most innovative torque/speed sensor on the market. The new system will give you instant access to masses of hill climbing power from the moment you start to ride. Simply push down on the pedal and the bike will reward you with a silent surge of power, the harder you push down on the pedals the more the motor will assist. When the bike reaches cruising speed, power will gradually ease back and when power is not needed at all, such as when descending hills, it will cut off completely giving you up to 40% extra range when compared to more basic speed sensor bikes. A torque sensor bike gives you instant access to power, a speed/cadence sensor only works after you have turned the pedals about half a rotation. A good torque sensor will provide instant power, longer range and a much more natural riding experience.

Wisper SE bikes utilise many of the same components as the Wisper Torque range including frame (10 year warranty) rack, batteries, wheels, front (180mm) and rear disc brakes chain guard. All other parts are high quality, yet not as top end as the on the Torque bikes. This enables Wisper to supply an excellent electric bike at only 2/3rds of the price of the Torque range. The main differences are the Wisper SE has cable instead of hydraulic brakes and a high torque motor and cadence sensor instead of an ultra high torque motor and torque sensor.

What is the difference between Cadence and Torque Sensors on Wisper bikes

In Brief:

Wisper SE bikes have a cadence sensor
Wisper Torque bikes have both cadence and torque sensors
Cadence Sensors
Cadence sensors turn the power on when pedals are turned forward and turn the power off when pedaling stops.
It will take between ¼ and ½ of a complete revolution of the pedals before the power is turned on.
Torque Sensors
Torque sensors recognise when and how much pressure is being put onto either pedal. Power will increase as the pressure on the pedals increases.
Power is available immediately pressure is put onto either pedal.
On Wisper Torque bikes the torque sensor will be deactivated and the cadence sensor will activate when the bike is put into F power mode on the LCD.
There are 4 power levels plus F. The higher the assistance level is on the LCD the more power will be given from the motor.
F turns off the torque sensor and the bike runs on cadence sensor alone.

Throttle
The throttle, when twisted and held open, will override both torque and cadence sensors. The throttle is fully operational up to 15.5mph as long as the pedals are being turned forward regardless of the amount of pressure being put onto the pedals.

Batteries, the new Wisper 36V 575Wh SAMSUNG batteries have a deep sleep mode and benefit from a Remote Controlled Service System, helping to ensure the battery gives you many years of tip top service.

All Wisper bikes are available with standard long range 375Wh, and mega range 575Wh batteries. In tests they have achieved more than 100 miles on a single charge from a 575Wh battery when fitted to a Wisper Torque bike.

Warranty...

All new Wisper frames come with a ten-year warranty*
All other non consumable parts have a two-year warranty*

Keeping you on the road...

If within two years of purchase, one of our 2016 (or later) Wisper bikes develops a fault covered by our warranty, and we cannot fix the bike in our workshop within 5 working days. We will supply a courtesy bike for use until the original bike is back on the road.*
