Founded in 1993 by György Berkes – Managing Director, the company has grown steadily and strongly to become a very highly respected manufacturer of eBikes, both in their own name and as an OEM manufacturer. 

 

The Company first entered the international stage in 1998 at an exhibition in Cologne to a great reception. Following on from that point their have continued to develop their assembly, technology and logistical network and the company was one of the first in its field to receive ISO 9002 certification. 

 

Initially they pioneered with their own electrical system the ‘GPDS’ but more recently they have been also using first Yamaha and now Bosch battery and motor systems. 

 

The brand is very strong across Europe, in countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Finland and Russia. Despite the economic difficulties of others in 2009, the company’s reputation continued to grow, their bikes being exported further afield. Gepida bikes are sought-out and welcomed around the world, including becoming very popular in Australia.
